I asked Erica for the opportunity to communicate to my friends in the Cincinnati MG Support Group (now identified as Southwest Ohio MG Support Group) the decision to step into
the role as an attendee member of this wonderful group while Erica steps into the role of SW MG Ohio District Rep, supported by her team. Jack and Sue Paas likewise have stepped back and the new leadership team has taken the helm.
Erica has many skills that will serve the group very well. Jack and I will attend meetings, events and offer our assistance when it's needed. I know you'll support Erica and her team with as much dedication and friendship that you have given to Jack, Sue and me. I believe this new leadership team will bring lots of energy, information, new ways of sharing the meeting online and a desire to help you manage MG in the best possible way. The best way you can show your support is to attend the scheduled meetings.
Let's step into this new phase with excitement and a willingness to share our stories!
With gratitude,
Sharon Meyer, Jack and Sue Paas
I have always felt as a patient with Seronegative Myasthenia Gravis to stay educated of new information released on research, clinical drugs, etc. to be the best advocacy for myself. I was officially diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis in November, 2017. I have had many challenging and even baffling experiences with my diagnosis. Before going on disability due to MG, I taught for 13 years. My favorite was teaching Reading and Writing. Now for stress relief, I run a small business called, “Slow-Moving Perfection” creating things, and reading for enjoyment. I know how overwhelming the daily impact of living with Myasthenia Gravis can be, so when Sharon approached me about stepping into a leadership role for the Southwest MG Ohio Support Group I knew it was the right move. I wanted to do more to help others like me, and thought this was a great way to start. Sharon, Jack, and Sue have been very supportive leaders in helping Saul and myself transition into our leadership positions pretty smoothly as we have all been working together in making decisions. In case, some of the members may have not noticed or have been unsure, emails are no longer coming from slmeyer1954@gmail.com. They now come from SW MG Ohio Support Group - Erica Amann (amannerica@gmail.com). This is the same group as before just coming from a new email address. Please save it to your contacts, so the emails do not go to your junk folder. If you have not been in attendance to a SW MG Ohio Support Group lately, please join us for our November meeting on the 9th at 1 pm. We would love to see you there! Please RSVP to Erica by email or phone by November 6th as lunch will be included. Thank you and I am looking forward to serving MG Ohio and leading our support group to the best of my ability. I hope that you can join us in person or online soon!
Thank you,
Erica Amann
SW MG Ohio Support Group Leader
